Pinxit Design was founded in 1996 in Coventry (in the heart of England), to exploit the years of design experience and converging skills of Nick and Ros Kaijaks, with Nick's experience in technical design & page layout and Ros's traditional arts education blending to produce a partnership where elegance, common-sense aesthetics and a meticulous attention to detail are paramount. For the curious, the name pinxit comes from the Latin for he (or she) painted this.
Information design is a discipline that goes beyond the traditional métier of graphic design. Rather than having a purely visual æsthetic, it considers the way information is presented, and how to make that presentation most effective. It encompasses graphic design, editing, copywriting, typography and the underlying architecture of information structure. Good information design should be invisible - the interface that a reader, viewer or browser sees should be so natural that the user isn't even aware of it.
